Peanut Butter Smoothie
I think my favorite combination of all time is Peanut Butter and Chocolate. And while I plan on making a chocolate peanut butter smoothie, or maybe a chocolate peanut butter milkshake later, this Peanut Butter Smoothie lets the delicious peanut butter flavor be the star without having to compete with chocolate.
It is delicious. Easy. And totally healthy!
Are Peanut Butter Smoothies good for you?
Most definitely! This peanut butter smoothie is full of delicious and healthy ingredients and the peanut butter gives extra sticking power to keep you full longer.
What do you put in a peanut butter smoothie?
A peanut butter smoothie is so easy to make and you only need a few ingredients like peanut butter powder (or peanut butter), honey, yogurt, banana and coconut milk or regular milk. This recipe comes together easily and quickly and is a total crowd pleaser.
How do you make a smoothie thicker?
Frozen fruit, yogurt and ice are the best ways to make a thick smoothie! If it's possible to use frozen fruit, that's my first choice. Yogurt will help to keep a smoothie creamy. And if you still need to thicken your smoothie up, add some ice!
Peanut butter or peanut butter powder?
For this recipe, I chose to use peanut butter powder. There are a few reasons I did this, the first being that it is just more simple and less messy!
A scoop of peanut butter powder won't stick to your blender like peanut butter will!
Often, peanut butter powder will actually have less fat, but still contain the same protein that peanut butter will. Check the back of your containers to confirm this, but it is worth thinking about.
And, peanut butter powder usually contains a lot fewer calories than traditional peanut butter too. Again, consult the labels to be sure since every peanut butter is slightly different, but it is definitely worth checking out.
What Peanut Butter Powder should I use?
There are several options of peanut butter powder, but I have been using PB2. You can snag that HERE if you like.
What do I use to make a peanut butter smoothie?
There are many blenders you can use for making smoothies and milkshakes, but I personally own the Vitamix 780 and think it is simply the best. I get smooth, consistent results every single time which is exactly what I want for all my smoothies and this is also perfect for this milkshake too because I want everything blended together well! You can buy your own Vitamix 780 HERE.
