Avocado Smoothie

Avocados have an amazing way of creating a smoothie that is so creamy and delicious and this Avocado Smoothie recipe is tasty and healthy too!  This green smoothie is yummy and tastes very different than my Simple and Delicious Green Smoothie but is definitely a keeper and a recipe my whole family enjoys!  Avocados provide so many good health benefits like being full of healthy fat and rich in nutrients.  I love avocados, but not all kids do.  So an Avocado Smoothie is a great way to sneak some extra goodness into their morning breakfast or after school snack without them knowing!  It is also a great way for you to get some extra nutrients as well.  So whip up this Avocado Smoothie for the whole family to share today!

Avocados are best in smoothies when fully ripe, but not overripe.  I like to snag a few when I am at the grocery store just in case one of them isn’t quite ready to be used when I want it to be, I have a backup or two on hand.  And I love avocados so much that I would be happy eating them every single day!  I love getting them sliced and on toast, or in this delicious guacamole recipe!  In fact, my whole family loves that guacamole recipe, so take a minute and pin it!  I will wait!

A healthy Avocado Smoothie Recipe

How do you make an avocado smoothie?

Avocados can be added to nearly any smoothie because they have a fairly mild flavor.  However, the green color might not blend well with some colors if you are looking for a pretty looking smoothie too!  So pairing avocados with fruits and vegetables that are green, yellow, orange or white in color allow the smoothie to remain a light green color which helps make smoothies appealing.  Simply peel a ripe avocado, remove the pit, and add it to your smoothie recipe and blend it until it is smooth.

Avocado Smoothie

Ingredients: 

  • 1 frozen Banana
  • 1 Avocado
  • 1/2 cup Spinach
  • 5 oz. Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/2 cup Ice

Directions:

  1. Place spinach, banana, yogurt, avocado, honey, milk and ice in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.

Enjoy this delicious treat!

I made this to serve 1, but you can stretch it to serve more by adding more milk and more ice.
