Orange Smoothie
For this recipe, I decided to use real, whole oranges. I would not substitute this in any way shape or form. This gives the smoothie great orange flavor and you get all the benefits of eating an orange!
This recipe has a moderate orange flavor (similar to an Orange Julius), so if you want to kick it up a notch, add another orange, or substitute the milk for orange juice. Easy as can be.
Are Orange Julius healthy?
I have fond memories of hanging out at the mall with my friends during my early teen years. We would save our money and splurge on an Orange Julius. Oh yum. Those were the days. But in all honesty, those delicious mall drinks are packed with sugar and have very few nutrients in them.
This recipe for an Orange Smoothie has better taste, is full of nutrients, and has no added sugar to it! Yum!
Now I can make something just as delicious or better, without needing to leave my home and go to the mall! This Orange Smoothie fits the bill perfectly, plus is it super healthy for you!
Can you put milk and juice in a smoothie?
Definitely! Milk (or a milk alternative) can add healthy nutrients to your smoothie while keeping a smooth consistency (no one wants an icy smoothie). Juice can add a powerful flavor-filled punch to your smoothie to enhance flavors.
I am just always careful, when I use juice, to use 100% juice with no added sugars.
What blender is best for smoothies?
There are many blenders you can use for making smoothies, but I personally own the Vitamix 780 and think it is simply the best. I get smooth, consistent results every single time which is exactly what I want for all my smoothies! You can buy your own Vitamix 780 HERE.
This smoothie was so delicious, my 2 year old decided to get into the action!
She insisted on having some, with a straw, and an orange slice on the side.
And then she decided to rearrange my set up to add her own smoothie into the photos. Hahaha
Oh man this little girl keeps me on my toes!
Ok, are you ready for this delicious orange smoothie recipe? Alright, here we go…
Of course, you can modify the ingredients if you like. The great thing about smoothies is that you can use what you have and modify them to your preference.
But this smoothie is so incredibly delicious that you really do need to try it just like the recipe.

How many ounces in "1 container Vanilla Yogurt"?
I just discovered your web pages. They are the best ever!!!!!
Love the photographs, the vivid colors, the fun, but easy to read LARGE fonts that I can read without squinting, and of course, your positive energy. It is also thoughtful of you to condense your recipe into an easy to copy version: "Snag the printable recipe below.." You do everything correctly! Yours is the first site to which I have ever subscribed.
My wife bought a Vitamix, and it is AWESOME, but we ran out of decent recipes the first week. If readers don't own one, they should make it on their Christmas list. Men buy guns, tools, or golf clubs, but women need Cutco knives and a Vitamix! They are lifetime investments!
Thank you!!

I like to make my own smoothies and was wondering if I could make one out of oranges! For added punch I use a scoop of protein powder. I buy the Target brand "Market Pantry" in vanilla flavor, which has 25 grams of protein per scoop, as well as some added vitamins and minerals. Yummmy!
