With only a few ingredients, most you may even have on hand, you can turn all your pumpkin spice dreams into a delicious pumpkin smoothie recipe that is healthy for you, filling, perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack.
Is pumpkin healthy for you?
Yes, pumpkin is healthy for you! Pumpkin is a vegetable, specifically a squash and is good for so many things including a pumpkin smoothie.
Pumpkin is nutrient-rich, vitamin-rich, mineral-rich but low in calories. Pumpkin has potassium, antioxidants, beta-carotene and fiber.
Seriously, I don't know why we don't eat more pumpkin!
Fresh pumpkin will obviously give you the best nutritional benefits, but sometimes grabbing a can of pumpkin puree is really convenient.
However, check the ingredients on your pumpkin puree can as sometimes sugars of syrups are added.
How do you make a pumpkin shake?

To make a pumpkin smoothie, you will combine pumpkin puree, banana, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and honey together until well blended. You can adjust your amounts as prefered, but I am sharing my favorite fail-proof pumpkin smoothie recipe below.
What do I use to make a pumpkin smoothie?
There are many blenders you can use for making smoothies and milkshakes, but I personally own the Vitamix 780 and think it is simply the best. I get smooth, consistent results every single time which is exactly what I want for all my smoothies and this is also perfect for some milkshake if you want everything blended together well! Pumpkin Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
- 1 Banana, frozen if possible
- 1 cup Coconut Milk, or prefered milk
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- ½ teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- Ice, if needed
- Pumpkin Seeds, optional
Directions:
- Place all ingredients in your blender.
- Blend on high until thoroughly combined.
- Add ice and blend until smooth if needed for temperature and consistency (ice can thicken your smoothie up a bit and make it cold).
- Pour into a glass.
- Top with pumpkin seeds if desired and a dash of cinnamon.
- Enjoy cold!
