Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie Bowl
This strawberry blueberry smoothie bowl is the perfect healthy breakfast idea! It can be made in a few minutes and eaten at home or on the go.
What is a smoothie bowl?
Smoothie bowls are just like a smoothie, only thicker. Instead of sipping it through a straw, you'll use a spoon to enjoy this yummy breakfast meal. You can top smoothie bowls with nuts, granola, fruit and seeds to round out your breakfast to make it hearty, filling and oh-so-yummy!
What if I want to make this into a smoothie into a smoothie bowl.
Yup, you can totally do that! The only difference between a smoothie and a smoothie bowl is the thickness of it. So simply take this smoothie bowl recipe, use more liquid, and you'll have a strawberry blueberry smoothie instead!
Can I save a smoothie bowl for later?
You can save a smoothie bowl for later in the fridge or freezer. If you freeze it, you will want to allow a little time for it to unthaw before eating. However, freezing, especially if it has dairy in it, can change the consistency a little bit. But it will still taste yummy.
You can refrigerate a smoothie bowl for later too. The smoothie bowl may get thinner though if you have used ice or frozen fruit as those come to refrigerator temperature.
Note that any toppings you put on your smoothie bowl prior to refrigerating or freezing may get a bit soggy. So it would be best to wait until you are ready to eat it to add the toppings.
Why is my smoothie a different color than yours?
Smoothie colors depend on the ingredients. All blueberries are not the same shade of blue, all strawberries are not equally as red and fresh and frozen berries can vary in color significantly.
Which means, even if you follow my ingredients exactly...your smoothie bowl may be a slightly different hue then mine. Don't worry though, it will still taste absolutely delicious!
Ok, are you ready for this delicious recipe?
Can I use fresh fruit for this smoothie?
Yup! I used frozen berries for this recipe, but you can definitely sub fresh instead! But you will want to add some ice to make your smoothie thick and cold!
What do I use to make a smoothie bowl?
There are many blenders you can use for making smoothies and milkshakes, but I personally own the Vitamix 780 and think it is simply the best. I get smooth, consistent results every single time which is exactly what I want for all my smoothies! You can buy your own Vitamix 780 HERE.
