Fall is here and our whole family is enjoying apples, apples and more apples, so I thought it fitting to create a Green Apple Smoothie Bowl and share the recipe with you on my site. This Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie Bowl is also a favorite around here, but I love how this Green Apple Smoothie Bowl is perfect any time of year, but especially in the fall. It tastes like delicious apple spice but is crazy healthy with an added dose of greens! You will want to save this recipe and make it again and again.

Green Apple Smoothie Bowl
This green apple smoothie bowl has apples, oatmeal, a handful of spinach, a banana, yogurt and spices and is the perfect, delicious breakfast smoothie. Top it with your favorite toppings like apple slices, granola, nuts or a dash of cinnamon and you have a filling combination that will keep you full until lunch.
Does anyone else have that problem? I eat breakfast and then I am starving an hour later!
Filling smoothie bowls (and hearty smoothies) can keep me full all morning! Plus I am flooding my body with amazing nutrient-rich food AND starting the day off with lots of liquids too.
Smoothies are seriously the best way to start your day.
What is a smoothie bowl?
A smoothie bowl is similar to a smoothie, but instead of drinking it through a straw, you will need a bowl and a spoon to eat it! It is a great combination of fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables blended into a thick, rich and creamy breakfast that is healthy and filling!
Smoothies are my fav, but sometimes I am extra hungry and need something with a little more substance to it. That is where smoothie bowls do the trick!
They are just as easy to make as a smoothie, they just need a tiny tweak or two (ie leave out the liquid!).
How do you make a healthy smoothie bowl?
It's easy! Simply combine fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables in a blender and blend until thick yet smooth. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy! Snag my full recipe for this green apple smoothie bowl below.
As long as you are putting healthy ingredients into your blender, you will end up with a healthy smoothie bowl. Easy as can be!
What do I use to make a green apple smoothie bowl?
There are many blenders you can use for making smoothies and milkshakes, but I personally own the Vitamix 780 and think it is simply the best. I get smooth, consistent results every single time which is exactly what I want for all my smoothies! You can buy your own Vitamix 780 HERE.
Why use applesauce vs apples in a smoothie?
You can use apples or applesauce in your smoothie or smoothie bowl. As long as you have a really high powered blender (like my Vitamix), you will be fine either way. I do like to core my apple before blending it though.
Depending on a lot of factors like your blender, the apple variety, quality of apple etc, some people report that when they use apples in smoothies, the texture is grainy. I have not experience this.
But because some people shy away from throwing an apple in their blender, I decided to perfect this recipe with applesauce instead of using the whole apple.
Either one works. It's totally a preference thing.
But if you choose applesauce, I recommend using unsweetened applesauce only.
Alright, let's begin!
